Privacy Policy

How we handle your data

MilkLog (the “App”) is an iPhone application developed by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how it is stored, and your choices. We do not operate our own backend servers for the core features of the App.

1. Information the App processes

Depending on how you use the App, it may process:

  • Feeding records: timestamps, feeding type (such as formula, breast milk, or direct nursing), amounts, duration, and related notes you enter.
  • Baby profile: information you choose to save locally, such as a nickname, birth date, or default amounts — only to support logging and reminders inside the App.
  • Exported files: if you use export (for example CSV), files are created on your device or saved where you choose (such as Files or share destinations).

2. Local storage and optional iCloud

By default, your records are stored on your iPhone using Apple’s on-device storage technologies. If you sign in to iCloud and enable CloudKit sync for the App, related data may sync across your devices using your Apple ID, subject to Apple’s iCloud terms and security practices. We cannot access your Apple ID password or your iCloud contents.

3. Notifications and reminders

If you enable feeding reminders, the App may schedule local notifications on your device. Notification content is based on information already on your device (for example, time since the last feed). We do not send marketing push notifications from our own servers.

4. Siri, Shortcuts, and widgets

If you use Siri, Shortcuts, or the Home Screen widget, Apple may process voice or text as described in Apple’s privacy documentation. The App uses these features only to help you log or display feeding information you choose. Widgets show a limited summary derived from data stored in the App or shared containers Apple provides for widgets.

5. Analytics, advertising, and sale of data

The App is not designed to show third-party advertising. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use an independent analytics SDK in the App to track you across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising.

6. Children and caregivers

The App is intended for parents and caregivers to record infant or child feeding on their own device. The adult who owns the device and Apple account is responsible for use of the App. If you believe we should remove information that was submitted in error, contact us using the email below.

7. Your choices

  • You can delete individual records or profile information inside the App where supported.
  • You can turn off iCloud for the App or sign out of iCloud in system settings, understanding that sync behavior may change.
  • You can revoke notification permission or remove Shortcuts/widgets in iOS Settings.
  • Uninstalling the App removes its local data from the device; data already synced to iCloud follows Apple’s sync and deletion behavior for your account.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date below will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
