How we handle your data

vJSON (the “App”, including its Safari Web Extension) is built so that JSON you view stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what the App may access and how we treat information.

1. What the App processes

vJSON formats and displays JSON that Safari loads in the active tab when the page is JSON or contains JSON that the extension is allowed to process. Processing happens locally in your browser. We do not operate a backend service that receives the JSON content you view through the extension.

2. Data we do not collect from your JSON

We do not upload the JSON documents you open, your browsing history, or the contents of your clipboard to our servers solely because you use vJSON to view or copy JSON.

3. Local storage and settings

The App or extension may store preferences (such as UI options) on your Mac using browser or app storage provided by macOS and Safari. This data remains on your device unless you remove it or uninstall the App.

4. Optional diagnostics

If a future version offers crash reports or analytics, we will describe them in-product and, where required, ask for your consent. This policy will be updated accordingly.

5. Third parties

Apple distributes the App through the Mac App Store. Apple’s privacy practices are governed by Apple’s policies. Websites you visit may have their own privacy policies; vJSON does not change how those sites collect data.

6. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date below will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
